A jewel nestled between the lofty mountain ranges of the Karakoram and the great Himalayas, Ladakh, “the land of high passes” needs to be on the bucket list of all lovers of spiritual beauty. One of the few places on earth still uncontaminated by mass tourism, Ladakh offers the unique experience of being at one with a rugged, yet soothing nature. My journey over craggy roads and heart-stopping escarpments took me to ancient peace-imbibed monasteries, colorful markets, remote pristine lake and, above all, to encounter genuine smiles everywhere. I packed my camera with stunning images, my eyes saluted a land where the hand of man has not yet wreaked havoc, and I filled my heart with high-altitude gratitude for an unforgettable experience.
